Q: How do I calculate insurance?
A:

Cardboard boxes need to be no more than 130 inches total. If the box exceeds 130 inches total, UPS (and all other shippers) charge a $50.00 over the limit fee plus the actual shipping and insurance.
To figure out how many total inches the box is use the following formula:
Length + Width (x2) + Height (x2)
Average Cardboard box size: 48 + 28(x2) + 8(x2)
48 + 56 + 16 = 120 inches
Hard Case Boxes - Another $6.00 additional handling fees per UPS because they do not fit on the conveyor belt that was designed the for cardboard.

  Good luck in your race!
